So a lot has happened! So here we go.
1-Indiegogo instead of Kickstarter
2-For profit instead of non profit
1-So we decided to go with Indiegogo instead of Kickstarter for a crowdfunding campaign because they let you keep the funds even if you do not reach your goal. We have two weeks left and need all the help we can get!
2-I also met this last month with several CPA's and attorney's going over the pros and cons of being a 501c3 non profit and then a LLC For profit company. After taking time to think over it, we have decided to go with the LLC for profit direction. The biggest reason why is because of tax reasons and with a non profit, you are limited on options of what you can use the finances for and who can be involved in the presentation. Time was another issue, it takes MONTHS to get approved and we feel it is imperative that we get going ASAP.
We will NOT be making any money off of anyone who needs help. We plan on working with sponsors and other ways to create funds so that we can offer the concerts at a minimum cost to the schools. We will partner with other programs to help after the concerts so we can help as many as possible. Kids will not be charged to be involved with ARISE.
3-We plan on having a preview show in January 2014 so we can invite Admins, counselors, sponsors, and anyone else to view and see exactly what we want to do in the schools. Invites will be sent out in the coming months. We are excited to share what we have to offer!
So First I want to say thank you to a couple people. One is Matt Bryan, a good friend who designed the logo for me... THANK YOU
Secondly, thank you to Tamara who donated funds to get the video for Kickstarter filmed. THANK YOU
Our goal is to film a Kickstarter video that will double as a promo video to move forward. We want to raise funds for equipment, recording the multi genre album, and promotional materials.
We are excited as the movement goes forward leaps and bounds.
Jhonny and Jodi had the pleasure of speaking with Debra Lewis who is the state of Utah's suicide prevention specialist in charge of implementing new programs for jr and high schools across the state and she is excited to be involved.
Things are movin
If you are reading this, it is because you have been sent here from people that I hold most dear in my heart. This blog will be a resource and a strength to anyone who has lost someone to suicide, or may struggling with bouts of suicidal thoughts personally.
There is hope, there is healing, you are not a burden on anyone, nor are you forgotten.
You are never alone. I am here to make sure that message is loud and clear.
There is a power inside of you that resonates throughout the universe, that calls forth your Greater Self. It is the Divine Voice that is in us all, that sometimes we forget to listen to or drown out because of guilt, shame, fear, or mistakes made over and over again.
Its time to ARISE. I am calling you to lift up your eyes, look up and live, To the Divine Voice Above. To allow your own music and your heart to sing to that which you have been called to do by something Greater...
Come ARISE with us....
